Service • Fellowship • Citizenship
APEX is a service organisation guided by its own rules, regulations, ideals, and ethics. It is non-sectarian and non-political, welcoming members of good character and reputation engaged in any recognised profession, business, or occupation.
Originally, membership was limited to young men between the ages of 18 and 38, but since 2001, APEX Malaysia has opened its doors to both men and women of all ages, making it a diverse and inclusive organisation.
Guided by service, fellowship, and growth, our mission is to create lasting impact in communities while inspiring individuals to lead with purpose
To be a dynamic service organisation that inspires fellowship, builds better communities, and develops responsible global citizens.
Founded on the ideals of service, fellowship, and citizenship, APEX has grown into a community of passionate individuals dedicated to building better societies and creating lasting impact.
APEX was born in 1931 in Geelong, Australia, when three young architects — Langham Proud, Ewen Laird, and John Buchan — came together with a shared vision: to serve their community during the hardships of the Great Depression. From this beginning, the ideals of Service, Fellowship, and Citizenship became the foundation of APEX.
The movement quickly grew, and in 1957, the first APEX Club in Malaysia was inaugurated in Kuala Lumpur. By 1975, APEX Malaysia became an independent national body, uniting clubs across the country under a common mission of building better communities.
Today, APEX Malaysia continues that legacy — empowering members to grow as leaders, creating lifelong friendships, and making a lasting impact through service projects, education initiatives, and community development.
What began as a small vision has grown into a global movement — proving that together, we can achieve what individuals cannot.
The first APEX Club was formed in Geelong, Australia, adopting the ideals of Service, Fellowship, and Citizenship.
The first Malaysian APEX Club was inaugurated in Kuala Lumpur, marking the start of APEX’s presence in the country.
The National Association of APEX Clubs of Malaysia was officially formed, giving Malaysia its own independent APEX movement.
APEX Malaysia continues to thrive with active clubs nationwide, supporting education, community development, and building lifelong friendships — carrying forward a legacy of service.
APEX was founded in 1931 by Langham Proud, Ewen Laird, and John Buchan — three young men driven to serve their community during challenging times.

The Apex Education Trust Fund was set-up to assist poor and deserving pupils/students with non-repayable cash stipends (bursaries). Such recipients are identified and investigated at club level. School heads are also interviewed to ensure that the decisions taken are based on the merits of each case.
Since its inception the AETF together with the Apex Clubs of Malaysia have disbursed over RM2,500,000.00 in bursary to thousands of pupils/students, an achievement that would not have been possible without the support of our well-wishers and sponsors.
To improve the functions of the AETF, there are plans to focus on hardworking youths from poor backgrounds with financial assistance in the form of loans or outright grants.
For those who truly believe that education is the best route to success and would like to support our cause, please contact us at ApexETF@apex.org.my. Alternatively, you can channel your donations directly to PBB A/C No. and provide us your details for us to revert with LHDN’s Tax Exemption Receipt.
